The Locarno Film Festival has been an important highlight on the film scene for 73 years. World-famous directors and actors present their latest works here in front of a renowned jury and a wide audience. Some of these films have even found their way onto the big screens of cinemas around the world. Over the festival's long and storied history, the coveted awards – the Leopards – have made their way around the globe.

The Ascona Jazz Festival is dedicated to classic jazz and the music of New Orleans. As one of the largest jazz festivals in Europe, it attracts audiences of up to 80,000 every year. The 11-day event features around 200 concerts by the biggest international jazz stars. The locations are spread across the city of Ascona. This allows visitors to experience the many charms of the city's beautiful and romantic squares and alleys.
